Vicar: Simon HowellSimon Ruth

Simon was born in the West of England, he trained as a professional musician (majoring in drums/percussion & piano), taught both in schools and as a management trainer, before becoming a church minister in Hong Kong, London & Bristol. He has a Pastoral Theology MA, majoring in inter faith studies.

He is married to Ruth – a primary-school teacher by profession – & they have three sons: Matt who works as a Personal Trainer, Gabe whose passions are filmmaking, acting and basketball, & Noah who loves street-dance, drumming & acting. Simon has enjoyed playing drums & keyboards in roots, world, rock and jazz outfits over many years; he also loves travel, wide-open spaces, world cinema, old Mini cars, black & white photography, football, and the interface between ecology & spirituality.

Simon shares the passions and the contemporary concerns of spiritual people in free thinking, creative communities.

Reader Graham Collins

Born in Maidstone, Kent in 1949, Graham has since lived in other parts of Kent, Bedfordshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Cambridgeshire and Gloucestershire –  so he is renowned for keeping on the move!

He has worked in management and sales roles for large American companies, including international responsibilities, and currently works as a self-employed management consultant and coach based in Stroud.

He is also a qualified counsellor.

His interest in Church stemmed from Sunday school in childhood, through absence as a teenager, to Free Church and then the Church of England for the past 30 years.

He has often been involved in leadership roles and in September 2008 was licensed as a Reader in the Gloucester Diocese.

He is now part of the leadership team at Holy Trinity, Stroud.

He has three grown-up children and spends his spare time walking, reading and going on theatre/cinema visits.
