Music Group

After a long history as a robed choir, Holy Trinity Church choir is currently undergoing something of a metamorphosis (!) in that we have, for the moment at least, abandoned robes and processing and are reinventing ourselves as a more informal group of singers, the better to serve the changing nature of our church services.    For some time now our repertoire has been increasingly varied, and moving away from the standard church choir repertoire, and we are enjoying expanding it still further as we learn new music for our Celtic Communion and other services.

We are a small, mixed–age, mixed-voice group who aim to sing to a good standard, whatever the repertoire, so we continue to practise each Friday evening (6.30-8pm for children; 7.15-9pm for adults) and for a short time before and after the 10 am service on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of the month.

New singers will be made very welcome.  Although useful, it is not essential to read music – though ability to sing in tune is good!  All music is provided.  We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and continue to offer the opportunity to take part in the Voice for Life training scheme for those who wish to further develop their musical skills.

Come and join us on this next stage of our journey as we explore new music and new patterns of worship.
